Islamic education is one of the important pillars in the formation of character and personality of Muslims. However, to achieve optimal quality of education, a more comprehensive approach is needed that does not only focus on cognitive aspects, but also affective and psychomotor aspects of students. In this case, educational psychology plays a very important role. This article aims to examine the role of psychology in improving the quality of Islamic education through a more holistic approach, by integrating psychological aspects in teaching, learning, and character formation of students. This study reviews the basic concepts of Islamic educational psychology, factors that influence student development, and how psychology can be applied in the context of Islamic education to produce a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent, but also has noble character.
