Abstract

This study examines the application of transformational leadership by school principals in student psychological management at MA Al Muniroh Ujung Pangkah Gresik. This study uses qualitative methods, including interviews, observations, and document analysis, to analyze the impact of transformational leadership on students' psychological well-being. The results showed that the principal succeeded in improving students' learning motivation, emotional well-being, and academic achievement through idealistic influence, motivational inspiration, intellectual stimulation, and individual attention. The research also revealed the challenges faced by schools located in coastal areas, where the majority of students come from families engaged in fishing and farming. The principal successfully integrates local values with a transformational approach through coastal culture-based counseling programs, extracurricular activities that utilize the environment, and individualized mentoring that considers the students' socioeconomic background.
