Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the application of the inspirational story method in Indonesian language learning with the learning motivation of fifth-grade students at SDN 66 Bengkulu City. The study used a quantitative correlational method with a survey approach. The study population was all fifth-grade students (N = 60), and the sample was taken by total sampling. Data were collected through a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire and classroom observation. The validity and reliability of the instrument were tested before use. Data analysis used the Pearson Product Moment correlation test through SPSS 26. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between the inspirational story method and student learning motivation with a value of r = 0.672 and p < 0.01. The higher the frequency of the application of inspirational stories, the higher the students' learning motivation. This study recommends teachers to be more creative in utilizing inspirational stories as a learning strategy.
