Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the brainstorming learning model on improving the quality of student thinking in the Pancasila Philosophy course. The approach used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design method using a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of two classes of students of the PPKn study program at one of the public universities in Indonesia, each numbering 30 people. The experimental group was taught with a brainstorming model, while the control group used conventional methods. Data were collected through a critical thinking ability test developed based on the Facione (2015) indicator and analyzed using an independent t-test and N-Gain score. The results showed a significant improvement in the quality of thinking of the experimental group students (mean N-Gain = 0.59, medium-high category) compared to the control group (average N-Gain = 0.34, medium category). The significance value of the t-test of 0.001 (< 0.05) proves that the application of the brainstorming model has a positive effect on students' critical, analytical, and reflective thinking skills. These findings confirm that brainstorming is effectively applied in learning the Philosophy of Pancasila to form a critical and reflective mindset in accordance with the values of Pancasila.
