Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of learning quality management in improving teachers' pedagogical competence at SMA Negeri 1 Majalaya. Pedagogical competence is one of the key components of teacher professionalism, reflecting the ability to design, implement, and evaluate effective and engaging learning processes for students. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants consisted of the principal, vice principal of curriculum affairs, several teachers, and education personnel. Data analysis was carried out using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed that the school implemented quality management through various strategies such as regular academic supervision, internal teacher training, reflective discussions, and the strengthening of teacher learning communities. These strategies had a direct impact on enhancing teachers’ ability to develop learning tools, manage classrooms, apply innovative learning models, and conduct assessments appropriate to students’ characteristics. The principal played an active role as an instructional leader who fostered a culture of quality within the school. Communicative and collaborative leadership became a key factor in the successful implementation of improvement programs that significantly influenced teachers' pedagogical competence. This study concludes that a well-planned and participatory implementation of learning quality management can effectively improve teachers' pedagogical competence and support the achievement of educational goals in the era of the Merdeka Curriculum.
