Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of managerial strategies in optimizing the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in student development at SMAN 1 Telukjambe. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed, focusing on the managerial practices of the principal and the involvement of BK teachers in planning and delivering counseling services. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of school policies and BK programs. The findings indicate that counseling service planning was conducted collaboratively, involving the principal, curriculum coordinator, and BK teacher to design modules, schedules, and success indicators. Counseling sessions were carried out in accordance with established procedures and monitored systematically. A supportive counseling room environment and the empathetic approach of BK teachers fostered student openness in addressing their concerns. Program evaluations were conducted regularly through participatory forums involving students, parents, and educators. These results emphasize the importance of collaborative management in enhancing the effectiveness of school-based counseling services. The study recommends strengthening managerial training for BK teachers, utilizing digital platforms for service monitoring, and implementing continuous evaluations aligned with student needs.
