This study aims to analyze the role of teachers in facing the challenges of implementing the Independent Curriculum in elementary schools in Bengkulu City. The Independent Curriculum emphasizes student-centered, flexible, and contextual learning. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with 10 teachers and two principals who have implemented the Independent Curriculum since the 2023/2024 academic year. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The results indicate that teachers play a crucial role as facilitators, innovators, and motivators in creating differentiated learning and the Pancasila Student Profile project. However, the implementation of this curriculum faces challenges such as limited conceptual understanding, limited digital resources, and a lack of ongoing supervision and training. Nevertheless, teachers develop adaptive strategies through inter-teacher collaboration, reflective learning, and the use of learning technology. These findings confirm that the success of the Independent Curriculum depends on professional preparedness, systemic support, and a paradigm shift in teachers toward independent, creative, and student-centered learning.
