Abstract

The development of the digital era has had a significant impact on the character of students, both positively and negatively. In facing these challenges, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has a strategic role in shaping students' character so that they continue to adhere to moral and spiritual values. This article aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education in shaping students' character amidst advances in information technology. Through literature studies, the discussion focuses on how Islamic Religious Education can be a means of internalizing moral values, honesty, responsibility, and tolerance in students' daily lives. The results of the study show that Islamic Religious Education, when applied contextually and adaptively to digital developments, can be a foundation for building strong and religious character. Therefore, the synergy between the use of technology and strengthening religious values is the key to forming a generation with character in the digital era.
