Abstract

The phenomenon of communication crisis between parents and children in Bengkulu City has become an increasingly complex issue amidst the development of the era and the influence of digital media. This study aims to identify Islamic family counseling strategies in overcoming this communication crisis. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of five Muslim families and two Islamic counselors. The results of the study indicate that communication crises in families are often triggered by parental dominance, lack of empathy, and imbalance of moral responsibility. The Islamic family counseling strategies applied include five main approaches: spiritual awareness, value reconstruction, empathetic mediation, Islamic communication training, and post-counseling monitoring. This approach has proven effective in building harmonious and relational communication between parents and children. This study concludes that Islamic family counseling, which is based on spiritual values, morals, and moral relations, can be a contextual solution in improving the dynamics of Muslim family communication in the modern era
