Abstract

Character education is an important aspect in the world of education, especially in forming students' personalities with noble character. Implementing the 5S values (Smile, Greeting, Greeting, Polite, Polite) is an effective strategy in instilling a positive attitude in the school environment. This research aims to analyze the application of 5S values in shaping student character at SMP Negeri 7 Bengkulu City. The research method used is a qualitative approach with observation, interview and documentation techniques. The research results show that the implementation of 5S values has a positive impact on increasing discipline, respect for teachers and peers, and creating a conducive school environment. Obstacles in implementing 5S values include a lack of consistency in supervision and a lack of student awareness of the importance of these values. Therefore, the role of teachers and educational staff is very necessary in providing real examples and instilling 5S values on an ongoing basis.
